Meet Petunia
Meet our beautiful, sweet Petunia! Petunia came from rural Kentucky as a stray. She has adjusted well to life in a foster home. She loves people, kids, other dogs and cats. No resource guarding at all. Crate-trained and will go into her crate when told to "kennel up." We worked on building her confidence and trust. She is a cuddlebug and loves to lay on the back of the couch with her paws curled around your shoulders. She will sit for treats, but can be a counter-surfer like a typical hound. She is curious and responds to redirection with treats and verbal encouragement. Life inside is a new and exciting adventure for her!
Petunia would love a secured, fenced-in yard. Humans to snuggle with. Walked with double-leashing and a harness because urban sounds, quick movements and new people can still be scary for her. Kids over the age of 6 years old. Other dogs or cats to cuddle. Petunia is dreaming of her "Happily Ever After" family. Could that be you?
The NAWS Dog Adoption Program operates as a rescue versus a shelter. We believe in matching the right dog with the appropriate family based on each specific dog or family’s needs. To achieve this we believe in spending the appropriate amount of time with each family to allow for enough interaction time with potential adoptees. This cannot be achieved if people stop by unexpectedly to meet our dogs. Please e-mail Stacy@NAWSUS.org to set up a day and time to meet with Tim or Heather, (our dog adoption counselors), and our potential adoptees. Thank you!!
