Petey's Story
A reminder of The story of Petey
Petey came into Ebarr in late 2018 at 3 years old when the shelters were so impacted, he ended up on the Euthanasia list for space. He was a great dog with just a few rough edges.
He moved in with our trainers and got around the clock attention and training and became an amazingly well behaved dog. We don't have the time or resources to do this however we found a way. For 2 long years we had him until a family showed up and convinced us he was safe with them, he was now 5 years old in 2020.
A few months ago, Petey entered the shelter and we were told. I immediately reached out to the owner........WTF!!!!!!
Is he lost?
How can we help you?
(I didn't tell him we had already secured the dog from the shelter)
I got no response for multiple days. Then the response was.......oh my inlaws just told me he was missing. Keep me updated.
(All this guy knew is that I asked if the dog was home safe, I never told him he had been found or that the dog was at the shelter)
I asked where did he go missing from?
How long has he been gone?
48 hours later.......
"We are out of town, keep me posted."
Posted on what? I ask,,,,,do you not care your dog is missing. We are not out of town and trying to help you. 24 hours more and NOTHING
"I said we are out of town."
In my head im saying......your not getting this dog back. (Due to their lack of action and my suspension that they didn't care.......over my dead body were they getting this beloved dog back.
The emails got nasty because I was supposed to understand that they were out of town and their inlaws were going through personal stuff.
In my head........we all are going through personal stuff, and that does not absolve you from keeping your dog safe...........unless you let him go in the first place.
Through my super effective sluthing, we found out that the dog was actually taken to the shelter by an unknown personal and there is no one that can officially say he was a stray, also he was never reported on fido, next door or any other site, (which is strange because animal lovers are very good at posting seen or found animals.)
At the end of the day, he was dumped by his family and they didn't care if he was found (or they already knew because they brought him to the fu$$ing shelter. Am I mad, Yes I'm mad.
We take our animals back.......period!!!!!
We don't save these kids and let them fend for themselves out in bad situations. We rescue FOR LIFE, even if others fail.
Petey, now 10 years old and that's a very hard adoption to find. If you are interested in this lovely senior boy please go to Ebarr.org and find.
Infill out the application.
Of course we are looking for a sponsor for him and will be looking for a new home, although I'm definitely over protective now.
