Peter Pan's Story
Meet Peter Pan -- The Boy Who Never Got to Grow Up

Just like his namesake, Peter Pan is our boy who never truly had the chance to grow up. Found as a young puppy, he has spent 435 days in the shelter -- surrounded by adult dogs, stressful routines, and constant noise -- instead of learning the world the way a puppy should. Now 1 year and 8 months old and weighing about 100 pounds, he's a big, beautiful Mastiff mix who still carries the heart of the little pup he once was.

Peter Pan is neutered, microchipped, up to date on all vaccinations, and has remained incredibly loving through it all. He greets every person he meets with softness and hope, as if imagining each one might finally be the one to take him home.

He plays beautifully with smaller, fun-loving dogs, but larger dogs can overwhelm him. It's no mystery why -- growing up in a shelter instead of a home meant he never had the chance to learn confidence from a family or to feel safe exploring the world like puppies should. Instead, he learned to stay alert, to be careful, to watch the big dogs around him. He grew in size, but his sense of security never had the chance to catch up.

In the right home -- one filled with patience, love, and room to breathe -- Peter Pan will finally get to reclaim that missing puppyhood. He'll decompress, gain confidence, and discover what he was always meant to be: someone's loyal, goofy, oversized "forever boy."

After 435 days of waiting, Peter Pan is ready for his Neverland -- a place where he can finally grow, heal, and belong.
