PETER's Story

Meet the Lucky Litter—a group of adorable, happy-go-lucky pups who are getting ready to find their forever homes! These little charmers are being raised in loving foster homes where they’re busy learning all the important puppy basics—like playing nicely, exploring the world, and discovering just how great humans can be.

Like all puppies, they are full of curiosity, personality, and just the right amount of mischief. They’re learning about toys, routines, and how to be the best companions, and each one is already starting to show their own unique quirks and favorites. Whether it’s playtime, cuddle time, or snack time, these pups are all in.

They will be ready for adoption mid-May once they’ve been spayed/neutered, and their foster families are working hard to make sure they’re set up for success. Their future families should be ready for all things puppy—training, patience, laughter, and lots of love.

This sweet pup is the perfect mix of playful energy and gentle awareness. Like any typical puppy, they love to play hard and then crash for a well-earned nap—but what really stands out is how well they read the room. They are wonderful with kids, including a 1-year-old in their foster home, offering kisses but knowing exactly when to move along and give space.

They get along beautifully with other dogs and are especially respectful, picking up on cues quickly and knowing when to engage and when to back off. While they haven’t been tested with cats yet, their thoughtful and observant nature suggests they could learn to live peacefully with them.

Peter is currently working on housetraining and doing great with consistency—going potty outside when given the opportunity, with just a few typical puppy accidents along the way. With a constantly wagging tail and a smart, eager-to-learn personality, they’ll thrive in just about any loving home ready for puppy fun and continued training.

✨ Three Things You Must Know About Peter:

Great with kids and dogs—gentle, respectful, and socially aware.
Smart and eager to learn, already making strong progress with potty training.
He would be happiest with a fenced yard to safely romp in as he grows; apartment life would not suit him.
If you’re looking to add a little luck (and a lot of joy) to your life, one of these pups might be your perfect match.

Peter is a male English Pointer/All-American Rescue mix (our best guess of breed) who was was born approximately 2-6-26. He is neutered, age-appropriate vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, given flea/tick/heartworm preventative. Adoption fee is $575 to help offset the many expenses we have for vetting costs. We rely strictly on adoption fees and donations to continue to save the lives of orphaned & abandoned pets; 100% goes towards their care.
***If you are serious about adopting, you must first complete and submit an application on our website. Our Adoption Team will respond via email from DollysLegacyAdoptions@gmail.com once you have completed an application. If a pet is still listed, it is not yet adopted as we update daily. Dolly's Legacy Animal Rescue's Adoption Policy
Thank you for your viewing our Petfinder page for Dolly's Legacy Animal Rescue with your interest in adopting one of our beautiful orphaned pets. We are a foster-home based rescue group and do not have a facility. All of our adoptable pets with their photos, descriptions, adoption fees & most information requested about them can be seen on our website which is updated daily at this link: http://dollyslegacyanimalrescue.org/ If they are still listed on our website, they have not yet been adopted. Since most of the pets we rescue have been orphaned or abandoned, we are not certain of their breed/mix and are not able to pinpoint how big they will be full-grown if they are still young. We do our best to determine the breed(s) they most closely resemble. The first step is to have you complete our online adoption application. Please visit our website at this link to see our adoption guidelines, on this page you will also find the link to complete & submit an adoption application: http://dollyslegacyanimalrescue.org/adopt/guidelines-application.html All adoption appointments are scheduled after your application has been approved. Preference is given to those with a verifiable veterinary reference, home ownership & fenced yard, although not required. Home ownership is verified through court records. If you are a renter, you must provide landlord contact information. We need all family members or those living within your home, including pets (dogs not cats), to be present for an appointment. We do not "hold" pets for a specific date. If you are going on vacation, or cannot take when the pet is available, please wait to apply until you are ready to adopt. We do out of state/area adoptions, but approved adopters are required to come to an adoption appointment, we do not ship pets. The final approval to adopt is after we have met applicants and feel they are the right match for that particular pet. Be sure to "like" our page on Facebook where you will find more photos and to learn more about our rescue.https://www.facebook.com/DollysLegacyAnimalRescue?ref=hl
