Perseus

We think Perseus could be a husky/heeler mix, and we know he is adorable! He is approximately 12 weeks old, 10 pounds and growing and currently in foster care in Big Bend National Park. Perseus is a smart, resilient puppy who has already made incredible progress in a very short time. Despite likely never having lived in a home before recently, he has proven to be a quick learner and an easy companion to have around.<br/><br/>He is doing wonderfully with house training and reliably goes potty outside when given the opportunity. He walks well on a leash, although the world is still very exciting and he loves to investigate everything he sees and smells! Perseus enjoys puzzle feeders and toys and is happy to entertain himself while hanging out near his people. He's the perfect amount of independent, and he likes being close to his humans without needing to be the center of attention all the time.<br/><br/>Perseus settles down quickly in his kennel and is content to relax and do his own thing in the same room as his people. He would likely enjoy having another friendly dog to play with, and a canine companion could help him continue building confidence. Because Perseus was found outside and is still adjusting to the comforts of home life, he can be startled by sudden movements and loud noises. When frightened, his instinct can be to dart, so he will need a family committed to keeping him safely leashed and secure until his confidence continues to grow. He also believes just about everything outdoors might be a snack—including bugs—so he'll need someone to keep an eye on what he's trying to taste during walks!<br/><br/>His foster says Perseus has been a wonderful puppy and much easier to have around than expected. He even gets to go to work every day, where he has become quite popular and enjoys regular visits from his growing fan club!<br/><br/>Thank you for considering an OTAT-WTX rescue!
