Perry's Story
Meet Perry ?

Perry’s journey began in a difficult situation in West Texas, where she was rescued while pregnant. She gave birth shortly after arriving at the rescue, but sadly, only one of her puppies survived. That little one has since grown into a happy, playful boy and found a loving home—now it’s Perry’s turn.

We believe Perry is a small MinPin mix. She is a very timid, anxious girl who hasn’t had much positive human interaction in her past. Because of this, she takes time to trust. However, we’ve seen that once she feels safe, her personality begins to shine—sometimes within just 24 hours. Perry would do best with someone who is a homebody, patient, and willing to move at her pace.

Perry is much like a cat in her demeanor: she enjoys being near her people and observing quietly, but she doesn’t always like physical touch. She is still learning that gentle affection is safe, and she has made progress—tolerating slow movements, enjoying soft pets, and even falling asleep in laps. Sudden movements or attempts to pick her up can still startle her, but with patience and consistency, she continues to improve.

Despite her shy nature, Perry has so many wonderful qualities. She walks beautifully on a leash, is quiet, crate-trained, and simply loves to be in the presence of her people. She would thrive in a calm, low-activity home where she can relax and share quiet companionship. Perry may also do well in a home with another dog—others from her situation have blossomed more quickly when they had a canine buddy to help guide them.

Perry is currently heartworm positive, but her full treatment is already covered through one of our partners. She has started her treatments and will need to remain on prevention for life. Until she completes the process, she’ll need to keep a calm, laid-back lifestyle—which is exactly the kind of life Perry loves.

? Perry is ready for the right person—or family—to show her that love and safety last forever.

If you’re interested in giving this special little girl the patient, loving home she deserves, please visit the link below to apply.

Adoption Link: https://forms.gle/SjQmK8kcULhJyeLq9
