Percy's Story
Percey is a 1.5 yr. young blue boy with a docked tail that came into rescue with his "baby momma", Lucy. As it turns out, Percy does best as an only dog. He loves attention from his humans and will cuddle all day with you! Because of Percy's size and exuberance (83 lbs), we think he would do best in a home with no small children (and no cats). Percy is crate trained and housebroken. Percy will need a forever family that is willing to give him tons of exercise and structure.
Here's the update from Percy's foster mom and dad:
Yes I’m Percy, in all my gorgeousness! (or at least that’s what SHE says!)
At the moment, I’ve taken residence with the two old folks – it’s not going to take me long to train THEM, I think – but for right now, I’m lapping up all the attention I can get. All I have to do is look at them with my bright amber eyes and they melt! Never mind sidling up to them and looking adoringly into their eyes – ha! They melt like butter. SHE uses words like “cute, so dang cute, beautiful, adorable, lovely boy, good boy” on and on....... I’ve got HER trained!
Having said that, she cooks! So I’m very careful to go to my bed in the corner and stay out the way when I’m told to – because I’m smart! Makes her love me even more! And these old folks walk. But I haven’t actually been taught to walk nicely on a lead, so SHE is showing me – easy peasy, just do as SHE asks and I get more love!! As I said, I’m smart!!
I don’t particularly like it when they separate, I miss seeing them both together, and when one returns from an errand, it’s so very exciting to see them again, I can’t help myself from turning around in circles and presenting all my toys to them! Every time! HE takes me in the truck with him. I like rides.
Yes, they’re old and I thought, being a teenager of 18 months, not quite grown up yet, I could run rings around them. One thing I didn’t anticipate though is that they garden. Spending a day in the garden with them is exhausting! Even half a day is exhausting! All the smells when they dig up things, is so interesting: I have tried to help them turn dirt over, not entirely successfully, but it’s fun! And...... putting my head in between her legs when SHE’s got HER tail in the air working in the dirt, gets me even more love! So I stuck to HER like glue to get lots of hugs, squeezes and praise as we planted roses. Take a look at the picture and video I’ve included of me in the garden. THEY can’t keep their hands off me! But, phew after all that work, an afternoon nap is a must – I’m a baby still!
At the end of the day, we all get some tv time and we get to cuddle on the sofa. I’m not fussy about putting my head on either of THEIR laps, gets me lots of loving. Then it’s to bed, to get my beauty sleep before another day of gorgeousness!
I do like children, but I’m a strong fella and worry about accidentally hurting little people, but I love teenagers. I actually like getting all the attention to myself, so will be very happy to be your only!
Do I have manners, go into a crate, and am I adaptable. Yes! Am I curious and into everything, full of energy and have to do zoomies? Oh Yes! Will I be your very best friend? Never leave your side and love you forever? O Heck Yes! I’m a Weimaraner and I’m so freak’n CUTE!!
