Yes, but please keep in mind that they must be taught to respect the dog’s space, belongings, and food.
• HOUSEBROKEN? NOT 100% YET. As a dog rescued off the street and transitioning from living on indoor tile/ outdoor dirt surfaces in Mexico, they'll need time and patience to adjust to a new environment, but most of our dogs adapt to a potty routine within 1-2 weeks with consistent training.

🐾 Meet PEPPERMINT 🐾

Peppermint and his siblings—Patty and Prancer—were only two weeks old when their mother was tragically hit by a car. Too young to survive on their own, blind and helpless, these three tiny puppies faced almost certain death on the streets. A kind woman found them and sheltered them temporarily, but newborn puppies need round-the-clock care. That's when Meximutts stepped in.

For the next several weeks, Peppermint was raised on formula and affection, in the loving company of his two siblings. He never knew her mother, but he learned that humans could be trusted to take care of him.

Now at six months old, Peppermint has grown into a strong, spirited little guy with a personality all his own. While his sister Patty is the feisty, vocal one of the trio, Peppermint is calmer and more observant. He'll still bark when he feels the need to—he's a Chihuahua mix, after all—but he's more selective about it. He's not yapping at every sound or movement. He's watching, learning, taking everything in.

"He's so attentive," his foster says. "You can tell he's smart. He's always observing what's happening around him, figuring things out."

Peppermint hasn't been formally trained yet, but all the signs are there that he'd excel at it. He watches his foster's movements, picks up on routines quickly, and seems genuinely motivated to learn. In the right home with someone committed to training, he'd thrive. He's got the intelligence and the focus—he just needs someone to channel it.

Every morning, Peppermint has his routine: zoomies with the other dogs. He'll race around the yard, chase his siblings, wrestle and tumble until everyone's worn out. It's his way of burning off that puppy energy and starting the day right. After playtime, though, he's ready to settle down.

His favorite thing? Finding a cozy bed that's exactly his size—where he can curl up snugly in all four corners, tucked in perfectly. He'll circle a few times, arrange himself just so, then let out a satisfied sigh as he settles in for a nap. Bonus points if that bed is in a sunny spot where he can soak up the warmth while he rests.

Peppermint loves spending time with people and is wonderful with other dogs. He's playful and social, but he's also got an independent streak—he doesn't need constant attention, just wants to be included in family life. He's good with kids and cats too, making him a wonderfully adaptable little companion.

What Peppermint needs is an active but structured home that can match his puppy energy but also provide him the guidance he's seeking to become the best version of himself. Someone who'll invest some time in training him—he's ready to learn and eager to please.

After growing up knowing only safety and love, Peppermint's ready to find his forever family. He's waiting for someone who'll appreciate his smart, observant nature, who'll laugh at his morning antics, and who'll give him that perfect-sized bed where he can curl up at the end of every day.

Are you ready for a smart, spirited companion who's calmer than his siblings but just as full of life—a dog who'll learn everything you teach him and love you fiercely in return?

*************************

📝 Ready to apply?
