Pepper's Story

NOTE: All adoptions are only in the greater Houston, TX area.

Please Note: WE ARE NOT A SHELTER- ALL DANES ARE IN FOSTER HOMES

PEPPER IS LOOKING FOR HER FUREVER HOME!

HISTORY: I am Pepper and I came from a loving home that raised me from a puppy. I grew up with 3 kids under the age of 10 and I am used to the loud environment of a full house. The kids always played with me and wrestled me around and I have always been a patient pup. I am generally calm, but I will play and protect my home and family against everything. I LOVE water! I love to be outdoors and do not always want to come inside the house. I grew up camping a lot and I am well behaved. I am AKC registered with papers, and spayed. I am in search of a new home because my parent lost their spouse and things have been challenging. They are not able to give me the attention I need. So, they had to make the tough decision of letting me go so I can have the best life I deserve! My foster family says I am one of the best dogs ever and the family who adopts me will be extremely lucky! If you are looking for a calm, well behaved, protective wiggle butt then I am your pup!

DATE of BIRTH: 01/10/2022.

SIZE/WEIGHT: approximately 40” long, 28” tall, 75 lbs.

FEEDING: I am not super picky, but I am particular about what I eat. I will sit and wait for my meal.

MEDICATIONS: none.

WALKING/OUTINGS: I need work walking on the leash, because I pull, but I am getting so much better.

GROOMING: I LOVE water and baths, I am comfortable with nail trimming, and ear cleaning.

TOYS/PLAY TIME: I love all toys! I love to play fetch, but love for you to chase after me.

CHEWING/DIGGING: Nope! I seriously am so well behaved!

PERSONALITY/BEHAVIOR: I am playful, independent, energetic, but generally calm. I am curious of outdoor creatures and will bring them to you. I have not been “cat tested.” I am independent and may not always listen because I get distracted with the outside world, but I am food driven and very trainable.

WITH OTHER DOGS: I can be friendly with other dogs with slow introductions. I can be annoyed with super hyper dogs or dogs that are in my face, because I need time and my space to get to know them better.

WITH KIDS/ADULTS: I love everyone and am very patient with kids. My original family played with me all the time and I was extremely patient and loving with all the kids.

TRAINING: I am very smart and know how to sit and shake. I am food driven and trainable.

POTTY TRAING: I am fully potty trained and will hold it for long periods. Foster mom says she’s never seen a dog hold it as long as I can!

CRATE TRAING: I am fully crate trained with no issues. I will go to “bed” and expect a treat.

SPAY/NEUTER: I am spayed.

ADOPTION CONTRIBUTION FEE: $200.00

In many cases, the cost of vetting services is greater than the adoption contribution. The adoption contributions help defray the costs of vetting services, but rarely, if ever, cover all expenses. Additional donations are welcomed and appreciated. Please consider making a donation to help offset medical expenses.
To do so, please visit our website at www.saveadane.org

GDRST will have the following services completed as part of the adoption process. Each animal will be spayed or neutered, fully vaccinated, heartworm tested, heartworm treated if applicable, fecal tested, de-wormed, microchipped and monthly heartworm preventative

Please note GDRST is an all-volunteer, run by individuals with full time careers. In order to meet with a Dane that you are interested in, please complete our online application. After receiving your application, a volunteer will verify with your vet the care on your current or previous animals and then contact you to set up a home eval and to discuss which Dane may be a match for you.

Great Dane Rescue of Southeast Texas
16516 El Camino Real #402
Houston, TX 77062-5723

Information E-mail: info@saveadane.org

Adoption E-mail: adoption@saveadane.org

Website www.saveadane.org

Connecting Great Danes to Great People

Great Dane Rescue of Southeast Texas
