Pepper's Story

Meet Pepper

Pepper is estimated to be a 3 year old, 17 pound corgi mix. While she is fresh into her foster home, we have quickly learned a lot about her. She is incredibly smart - she has sit, down, and high five (close) pretty much mastered. She is treat motivated and will do a happy dance if that’s what it takes to get one. She does great with other dogs (she does seem to want to rule the pack), cats, and kids. She loves toys, but she really seems to love her humans the most. Pepper loves to run and rub her fur in the grass. She is the perfect candidate for training classes and will excel in them. Pepper will be happiest with an active home who will take her to run and go on long walks. We are still learning more about Pepper, but in the meantime, applications for her can be filled out at www.causeforpaws.net

In the best interest of our fosters we require adopters to be within a 100 mile radius of Byron, Illinois.

All pets will go to their forever homes up-to-date on all age appropriate vaccines, and on heartworm and flea/tick preventatives. Pets will have all of their basic supplies with them as well including; food bowls, their own bed, leash, collar, toys, and food to acclimate them to their new home.

Cause For Paws's Adoption Policy
In order to encourage folks to rescue homeless Orphans, we try to make the rescue experience as non-invasive and pleasant as possible. First, an application is completed prior to meeting any of our orphans. Since we do not have a shelter, it’s important to be able to pre-qualify folks that will be making appointments with fosters, to meet any of our orphans. We do a vet check, to verify all current or previous dogs are up to date on vaccines, heartworm testing, heartworm prevention, and are either spayed or neutered. We may also contact references listed on the application when there is no previous vet information, or where more information is needed. We’ll then contact you to arrange a home visit, which is merely an opportunity to ask and answer any questions regarding our process. Since most of our orphans have already been in a situation that was not right for them, we want to do whatever it takes to allow them to succeed. It is not our intent to set a dog or a family up for failure.
