Pepper's Story

Meet Pepper! Pepper is a shy, 4.5 year old Bernedoodle who is bonded to her friend Cheddar. These two will need to find their forever home together.

Pepper came from a difficult past life and is trying to learn that the world is safe and humans can be kind. She arrived very shut down and scared.

Pepper is in a foster home now and is slowly learning how to be a dog. She has learned how to take treats from your hand- as long as she is sitting in the safety of her crate. She loves to follow Cheddar outside to the backyard and run around with her. She will then follow Cheddar back inside. Sometimes Pepper actually takes the lead and Cheddar will follow her back inside. They love to run and chase each other!

Pepper does not know what to do with a toy, but often fills her crate with them. She also is venturing out of her crate into other rooms more and more.

Pepper will need a patient adopter who is willing to give her time to decompress, build trust and come out of her shell at her own pace. While she may be timid now, we believe she has so much potential. She has already made great strides and shown us that she wants affection and wants to feel loved. With time, patience and love, Pepper and Cheddar could truly blossom into wonderful companions!
