Pepper 's Story

Pepper, is a 9-year-old who has known only one home her entire life. Through no fault of her own, Pepper was recently surrendered—her owners loved her dearly but are now facing serious health issues that prevent them from taking her outside and giving her the care she needs. She is housebroken on pads and does not bark much.

Pepper’s world has been turned upside down. She was undersocialized in her previous home and is very leery of new people and places. She does ’t like to be picked up and is easily startled by unfamiliar situations. Despite this, she truly deserves a second chance at love.

We are desperately searching for a patient, understanding adopter who can look beyond Pepper’s skittish behavior. She pays no mind to the other dogs in her foster home but will need time and space to feel safe with new humans. With patience, she does begin to warm up, but it is a slow process—she still has a long way to go.

Pepper needs an adult-only home with experienced owners who can respect her boundaries and work with her on her terms. Her foster family is working hard on building her confidence every day.

She is up-to-date on all vaccines, spayed, and current on heartworm prevention as well as flea/tick medication.

Please note: WE DO NOT HAVE A FACILITY—we are all volunteers doing our best for these animals in need. We are currently reviewing all applications carefully to find the right fit for Pepper.

If you think you could be the special person or family that Pepper so desperately needs, please reach out. Her future depends on finding someone willing to give her the time and understanding she deserves.
