Peppa's Story

PLEASE NOTE: Peppa must be the ONLY pet in the home and with children OVER the age of 8 years old.

🐷 Meet Peppa (aka “Peppa the Pig”) 🐷
Sunbathing enthusiast. Bathroom-tile bullfrog. Certified snore machine.

If personality were an Olympic sport, Peppa would medal in unintentional comedy.

Peppa is about 1 year old, 45 pounds, and built like a compact bulldog tank with strong opinions. When she’s not sprawled out like a bullfrog on the coldest tile in the house or sunbathing with her tongue dramatically flopped out, she’s staying busy. Meals are a game to be conquered via her slow feeder, and a stuffed Kong becomes a full-blown event. Fair warning: while chewing, she provides authentic pig grunts. This is not a metaphor. This is a feature.

At night, no white noise machine required. Peppa snores with purpose. Deep, rhythmic bulldog snores that could lull an entire city block to sleep.

And then there’s her left eye. About one-third blue and the rest brown, it’s nearly impossible to capture in photos but absolutely magical in person. It’s the kind of eye that makes people stop mid-sentence and say, “Wait… did you see that?”

🐾 What We Love About Peppa

Loves being wherever her person is

Enjoys affection once she feels safe

Very treat motivated and eager to learn

Food and treats are the fastest way to win her heart

Loves cuddling in bed and sleeping with her person

Turns enrichment toys into a long-term hobby

Crate trained (but prefers not to be crated)

Funny, expressive, and full of character

🏡 House Skills

Mostly potty trained

May have occasional accidents if not let out on a schedule

Can be mouthy when crated if she knows you’re home (she prefers to be out with her people)

Does well free-roaming as she is not destructive

🐷 The Honest Bulldog Notes
Peppa was found in a Dallas suburb and ended up in a shelter, where she was extremely stressed. Based on her behavior, we believe she may have been previously abused or left tied out, possibly on a slip lead or chain for much of her life. Because of this, she can be uncomfortable with people putting collars or leashes on and off her neck until she knows and trusts them.

She may take a few days to warm up to new people and new environments. During this adjustment period, her temperament can be a bit finicky, which is why calm handling and patience are essential. Once trust is established, she is affectionate, loyal, and deeply bonded to her person.

She has also experimented with the occasional humpy leg, which she is actively learning in her foster home is not acceptable behavior.

🐕 Dog Compatibility
Peppa needs to be the ONLY pet in the home.
She does best as the sole dog while she settles in and feels safe. Slow, structured introductions may be possible in the future, but only after she has fully decompressed and bonded with her new owner.

👧🧒 Kids & Home Environment
Children 8 years and older only.
Peppa needs a home without toddlers or very young children. She does best with older, dog-savvy kids who understand boundaries and can give her space while she builds trust. This helps prevent accidental nips during her adjustment period.

❤️ Her Ideal Home
Peppa needs an experienced bulldog owner who understands that trust comes before affection. Someone patient, confident, and consistent, who uses positive reinforcement (especially treats), will be rewarded with a loyal shadow who wants to be near you, sleep with you, grunt joyfully over her Kong, and snore you into the best sleep of your life.

If you believe the best bonds are built slowly and intentionally, Peppa is absolutely worth the wait. 🐽💤💗

💰 Adoption Fee: $900
Includes spay, vaccines, heartworm test, microchip, and monthly heartworm preventatives.

📧 Questions?
