At around 4 years old, Penny is a loyal and loving girl who is ready to soak up all the affection you can give her. She loves being by your side. She’s great with kids and cats, but she’ll need to be the only dog in your home to thrive. She gets nervous around other dogs.<br/><br/>Penny loves playing with her rope toys, sticks she finds in the yard, and any other fun toys you can offer her. When she’s not playing, she’s happily accepting cuddles and attention. Her owners were going on vacation and did not want to pay someone to board or watch her. They were willing to give her away to the 1st taker. Someone commented "she would be great for breeding" and they wanted her. We offered to watch over her for free. We had a funny feeling and had a contract signed to protect her that they would return for their dog by a specific date or she was to be relinquished to us. When we picked her up she was crated in a basement alone with no bedding. Her crate was so small when she would lay her feet would hit the front of the crate leaving her no room to stretch or grow (her feet were sticking out through the front of the crate). For food and water she had plastic bowls that were chewed to pieces. Outside of her kennel was a basement covered in poop and pee. The owner stated it was their young children's responsibility to care for the dog with feeding it and they really didnt want her. We had no idea walking in there that is what her living conditions were like. Her owners never came back for her.<br/><br/>She has a partial adoption fee sponsor:<br/>Adoption fee after sponsorship applied is $200.
