Penny's Story

Penny is such a cuddle puppy who loves her people and bonds quickly. She will make you smile with her playful and snuggly personality. Penny was abandoned in California, tied up to a pole in a parking lot of a homeless shelter by her owner. The Director of the shelter took Penny in and personally fostered her because she knew what a sweet and deserving girl Penny is.

- Approximately 1-2 years old and 31 pounds but could slim down a pound or two. Penny is a low rider with short legs and a long body.

- We gave our best guess of Pit Bull, Chihuahua, Dachshund for Penny's breed mix. She would be a fun one to do DNA testing on!

- Penny is reserved with new people but give her a day in your home and she totally blossoms and becomes a love bug that can't get enough of cuddling and affection from the humans. She tends to bond quickest with women but she also warms up and is sweet to men too.

- Penny does excellent with other dogs and has been fostered with a number of dogs, small to large in size and both male and female. She shares toys well, is not overbearing to other dogs and has a nice play style.

- Fostered with a cat and does well with the cat. Curious and initially tries to engage the cat in play but also backs right off if swatted by kitty. She is not persistent or fixated on the cat.

- Likely fine with kids ages 12+

- Medium energy level. Penny is a wonderful mix of loving her walks and getting some exploration in but also being able to nap, relax and just chill on the couch. She can be both an adventure dog or a couch potato!

- Enjoys burrowing under blankets, snores and makes adorable Pittie grunts that will make you smile.

- Toy enthusiast and will carry her stuffed bunny around with her

- Crate trained

- Excellent potty habits

Penny is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, heartworm tested negative and current on flea/tick/heartworm preventatives.
