She loves being with her people and will happily follow you from room to room, making sure you're never alone. In fact, she's earned the nickname "the little stealth jet" because she's so quiet you'll suddenly turn around and realize she's right behind you...usually just in time to avoid tripping over her! She has the sweetest habit of gently touching the back of your legs with her nose as she follows you, and if you're standing still, don't be surprised if she gives your leg a few affectionate licks. When it's time to relax, Penny wants to make sure she's touching you while she sleeps—because as far as she's concerned, personal space is overrated.<br/><br/>Penny gets along well with other dogs and enjoys playing chase in the yard with her canine friends. She has also been respectful of the resident cat, preferring to sniff rather than chase. She's been around a 6-year-old child and did well, enjoying being part of the family activities.<br/><br/>This sweet girl is house-trained, knows how to use a doggy door, and has slept comfortably in a kennel. That said, if given the choice, she'd much rather curl up in bed beside her favorite person.<br/><br/>Like many dogs, Penny has a few things that make her nervous. Sudden movements, loud vehicles, fireworks, and even the vacuum can be scary for her. She'll do best with a patient, understanding family willing to give her the time, love, and reassurance she needs to build confidence. With her eagerness to bond and her trusting nature, there's every reason to believe she'll continue to blossom.<br/><br/>Penny is affectionate, loyal, silly, and devoted. She's the kind of dog who forms a deep bond with her person and wants nothing more than to be by your side through every part of the day.
