Penny's Story

Meet sweet Penny! She is a 1 year old Lab/Great Pyrenees mix who weighs 72 lbs. She’s current on her vaccinations, microchipped, and has been spayed. She’s very inquisitive and enjoys learning new things. She really bonds with her people, and will stop what she’s doing and come to you for a pet and land a kiss on you. Penny is not a fan of crates, and sleeps in and out of her dog bed at night in her foster’s bedroom. She’s house-trained, and will jiggle bells at the door when she needs to go out. Penny loves kids and other dogs, and gets playfully excited when she sees them while on a walk. She pulls a bit on leash but backs off after a little while. She does have a strong chase instinct, so a home with a traditionally-fenced yard and no other small animals is best. Penny has been working on commands like sit and stay. She knows “no” and will come when called but if the neighbors kids or dogs are nearby, then all bets are off. She’s still very much a puppy, and likes to shred paper objects and squeaky toys. She can be creative when trying to reach food or other things out of her reach (such as on counters or behind sliding closet doors). Penny needs attention, exercise and playtime, and a family who will continue working with her on basic obedience. She’s being fostered in Westfield, IN.
