Penny's Story

Penny, a Pembroke Welsh Corgi born on April 30, 2021, is available for adoption. Penny’s previous home was small and did not have a fenced yard. Her owner would take her out on a leash for potty breaks but did not have time to spend exercising her. When she came into foster, she was morbidly obese and was not able to go down the stairs. She is at an ideal weight through time and patience and easily scales stairs. Those interested in Penny because of her obvious cuteness need to understand the breed and have experience with Corgis.
Penny was viciously attacked by another dog two years ago and sustained severe injuries. While the physical damage has healed, she can be reactive. She shares a home with two female dogs and a female cat. Penny has a high prey drive, so a cat-free home is best. She is able to live with the two dogs in the house but has been snotty and bossy.

When she can be alone with her foster mom, with no other distractions, she is the best little girl! She loves to just sit on the couch with her and snuggle. She has learned some basic commands, is very food motivated, takes treats gently, and shows patience. She has not mastered this behavior while the other dogs are around. She is easily distracted.

Is the ideal mom/dad out there for this sweet girl?
