Penny's Story

Penny... just LOOK at that little squishy face! :) Tell me you’re not already in love! Penny is equal parts sweetheart, comedian, diva, and professional cuddlebug. One minute, you’ll be gazing lovingly into her eyes, having a tender little heart-to-heart, and the next... SNORT! :) Yep, Penny has some very cute sound effects. And when you call her over, she comes trotting toward you only to swing around to give you her butt because, apparently, that is where the pets belong :) Just her presence is enough to make you smile. Penny has that special inner aura — a feel-good energy that is just great for the soul :) And walks? Oh, Penny LOVES her walks! She may be a little slow, but boy, this girl covers some ground! Penny can be very easily distracted. A noise? Must investigate. A commotion? She's on it. The neighbors coming home? IMPORTANT BUSINESS. Penny needs to know what's happening! A window view of the neighborhood is where she would park her butt. Did anyone say car ride? Any time she sees a car door open, she tries to climb in. She needs a little hoist, though :) She particularly likes the passenger seat. She wants to be your copilot. Why? Because Penny says so.

Penny is a 2.5-year-old, 51lb (she could lose a couple more pounds) English Bulldog. She is ready for a family to pamper and treat her like the diva that she is. Penny expects a lot of cuddles and pets, car rides, walks and to tag along anywhere you go. Penny is great with k

Buckeye's Mission's Adoption Policy
Meet and Greet with our adoptable dogs are by appointment only. An application must be completed prior to the meet and greet. The application gives us some background information on the family. It enables us to do compatibility screenings to match you up with the best fit dog and vice versa. Some of our adoptable dogs are in foster homes. Meet and greets will be at our sanctuary unless it is in the best interest of the dog to meet at the foster home. To meet any of our adoptable dogs please email your application to buckeyethepittie@gmail.com to set up an appointment. Please note that submitting an application for a dog does not guarantee that you will be approved to adopt that dog. Buckeye's reserves the right to approve or reject any application, for any reason, including but not limited to, judgement of the application, home situation, routine, safety, health, or the dog not being compatible to the applicant. Furthermore, there may be other applicants for the same dog. The best match for the dog and applicant will be made, regardless of order of application received or meet conducted. Adoption fees range from $350-$500 (more, on some occasions and less, if the dog has sponsorship). It covers core vaccines, microchip, heartworm test and spay/neuter surgery.
