Meet Penny

Penny is a 7-year old, 7lb boss lady. A typical Chi, if you will. When people hear "typical Chihuahua", they tend to run for the hills. But for anyone who has ever known the love and loyalty of a Chihuahua, they know nothing can beat it.

Penny thoroughly enjoys warm weather. We're not kidding. She lays out on the those unbearably hot 90 degree days IN THE SUN, and has to be coaxed inside. Once winter hits, she happily finds the warmest place in the house to hunker down.

Penny loves being a lap dog and is content to hang out with her people. And by content hanging with her people, we mean she will push her face through your hands when you're laying down, looking at your phone. Like we said, boss lady.

Penny isn’t a fan of strangers all up in her business but if they give her the time to come around on her own terms (typical Chi), she will eventually let them into her inner circle. And once Penny has warmed up to someone, she keeps them in her circle forever.

She also doesn't like playing with other dogs or dogs running all crazy in her space. She will crack the whip if there’s any funny business going on.

In her spare time, Penny thoroughly enjoys playing fetch and does an amazingly hilarious playful growl. The minute she hears the sound of a harness or leash, her tail starts wagging 100 mph. She’s ready for a walk anytime, day or night. When she’s not being active, she loves to roll around on her back and get belly rubs.

Penny’s adoptive family must be able to provide her the following things -
**Work on her fearfulness of strangers through training and treats, treats, treats!
**Provide care for her medical needs including daily heart medication and regular vet visits to monitor her heart murmur.

Admittedly, Penny may not seem like the ideal dog, but given the chance, she will be the most rewarding one you ever have.

Her adoption fee includes 4DX test, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, & bordetella), HW and flea/tick preventative, and microchip implant and registration.

Adoption fees INCLUDE a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%.

Due to post-adoption services provided, it is Pet Haven's policy to only place dogs into homes within a 60-mile radius of the Twin Cities area.
