Penny's Story
Here is what my friends at Hawaii Island Humane Society have to say about me:
- I am sweet and friendly when meeting new people!
- I love playing with toys, and take treats gently.
- I am playful, adventurous, and active, and would make a great adventure buddy!
- I am treat motivated and learn quickly through positive reinforcement training.
- When meeting other dogs I am polite and mellow!

To see more of Penny, check out the videos on her profile!

Penny was born deaf and will need a family who is committed to using positive reinforcement training to help her communicate with her new family using hand signals or touch cues. She is looking for an indoor home where she can be inside with her family, and will need someone committed to keeping her on-leash in areas that are not enclosed. Have questions about deaf dogs? Our team is here to help! Deaf dogs are much like hearing dogs, other than a few small differences and our team is happy to help you smoothly transition to adding a hearing impaired pet to your family.
