🐾 Meet Penelope 🐾<br/><br/>Penelope is a beautiful Shih Tzu estimated to be 2–4 years old who has already shown incredible resilience.<br/>She came to us from the same backyard breeding seizure situation as Heidi. When Penelope arrived, she had a very painful and severely inflamed left eye. We immediately took her to a veterinary ophthalmologist who diagnosed the eye with what appeared to be congenital glaucoma. Unfortunately, the eye needed to be removed to relieve her pain.<br/><br/>Since surgery, Penelope has healed wonderfully and is thriving as a one-eyed girl! Dogs adapt amazingly well, and Penelope gets around just fine.<br/>She is now spayed, microchipped, heartworm negative, fully vaccinated, and on monthly preventatives.<br/><br/>Penelope lived with many other dogs before coming into rescue and has done well with them. Because she likely wasn’t well socialized early in life, she can be a little shy when meeting new people or experiencing new environments, but with patience and love she becomes an incredibly sweet and affectionate companion.<br/><br/>She recently visited the groomer and did fantastic, showing just how gentle and cooperative she truly is.<br/><br/>Penelope is looking for a patient, loving family who will give her the time she needs to adjust and the safe, happy life she has always deserved.<br/><br/>📧 Interested in adopting Penelope, please complete our application first.<br/>Questions?
