Penelope's Story

Meet Penelope!

Penelope is located at Saving Grace Rescue LBK, a rescue partner of Project Freedom Ride's in Wilson, TX. She is available for adoption throughout much of the United States thanks to our transport program.

Penelope is a sweet and gentle 6-year-old Chihuahua with a loving soul, who weighs about 15 pounds. Penelope's world was turned upside down when she and her lifelong companion were surrendered to the Tahoka Animal Control.

Sadly, her friend passed away, and Penelope is now learning to navigate life as a solo act. Her journey has made her a little shy at first, but with a quiet, patient home, her loving personality shines through. Penelope is dog-friendly and would do well with a calm companion who can show her the ropes. She needs a little time to acclimate to new surroundings, but once she feels safe, she's an affectionate little shadow, happy to be by your side.

Penelope is just starting to discover the joy of being a dog. She's learning how to play with toys, often sneaking in a few playful pounces when she thinks no one is looking. She's looking for a family who understands she needs a gentle approach and can give her the time and space to blossom. If you're ready to open your heart to a quiet companion who will love you fiercely, Penelope is waiting.

Visit our website here: www.savinggracelbk.org

Penelope is also available for transport through Project Freedom Ride.

Apply here: https://form.jotform.com/220199338769066

Steps for potential adopters: 1) apply through our adoption inquiry link. 2) rescue reviews the applications, if the application looks fitting then .. 3) schedule a virtual interview / home check (video via Facebook, Facetime, Zoom, etc) 4) rescue does reference checks (this can come before or after the virtual interview) 5) if rescue approves family ... family will be asked to think about it and get back to the rescue within 24 hours with their answer. We do not like rush decisions which is why we do that. After the 24 hours we will start to review other applicants. 6) once everything has a green light with adoption, rescue will send adoption contract. 7) adopter would complete and sign and pay the adoption fee at that time to finalize and secure spot on next transport.
