Penelope's Story
Meet PENELOPE — “Penny” to her friends — a leggy little sweetheart with a heart full of promise

PENELOPE, lovingly called Penny, is as cute as they come. She arrived to us from Fresno as a stray when her finder, though kind-hearted, couldn’t keep her — and sadly no one came forward to claim her. Now this little girl is ready for a fresh start and a forever family of her own.

At just 12 weeks old and about 8 pounds, Penny has long legs and a stunning copper-colored coat that makes her truly unique. We think she may be a Chihuahua–Pug–Beagle mix (best guess!), and we expect her to grow to around 20 pounds full grown — a perfect medium-small size.

Penny is a bit shy at first, which is completely understandable given her short life experience, but she’s warming up more every day. Once she feels safe, her playful, curious puppy personality starts to shine. She’s still a baby with no formal training yet, making her a wonderful blank slate for a family excited to guide her through training, socialization, and lots of positive experiences.

Her ideal home will be:
A house with a backyard (no apartments)
A friendly resident dog to be her forever companion
An active family with time for play, structure, and puppy training

With patience, consistency, and love, Penny is going to grow into an incredible companion. She’s already come so far — now she just needs the right family to help her bloom.

Help us find Penny the forever home she deserves.

First Step Is To Apply Now
[Apply Now](http://form.jotform.com/underdogca/dog-adoption-application)
For application updates, forwarding requests, or any questions, contact us at adopt@underdogca.com.
