Peggy Sue's Story
Meet Peggy Sue, a two-year-old Shetland Sheepdog (Sheltie) who weighs about 25 pounds and is ready to start the next chapter of her life with a family of her own.

Peggy is a deeply loyal girl who just wants one thing in life: a person to love and stay close to. She loves cuddling with her people, playing in the yard, and going for long walks. Peggy is very food motivated, has great listening skills, and is eager to please.

Peggy will thrive in a home where she can be the focus of her person’s attention, without small animals in the household.

Peggy has had a difficult journey. She was once someone’s beloved pet but later found herself alone and struggling to survive on the streets for a long period of time. When she was rescued, she was severely malnourished and in extremely poor condition after enduring near starvation.

The good news is that Peggy is now recovering beautifully in foster care. She has gained weight and is now close to 25 pounds, becoming healthier every day. Her skin and coat are healing well, and it has been wonderful to see her regain strength and confidence.

Despite everything she has been through, Peggy has remained incredibly loving and trusting with people.

Peggy does have a strong prey drive, so she will need a home without cats or small animals. She may do well with another dog of similar size or larger after proper introductions, but she would also be perfectly happy as the only pet soaking up all the love.

Peggy Sue is the kind of dog who bonds deeply with her person and will happily be your shadow wherever you go.

Peggy Sue has been through a lot, but she has never stopped loving people. The right home will see just how special she is and will gain an incredibly loyal companion.

Medical Information
• Spayed
• Up to date on vaccinations
• Heartworm negative
• Fecal negative
• On heartworm and flea prevention

Adoption Fee: $500
The adoption fee helps cover a portion of the veterinary care and support that allows us to continue rescuing and preparing dogs like Peggy for their forever homes.

Interested in adopting Peggy Sue?
Please contact Barkin Dogs Rescue to learn more.

BarkinDogsRescue@gmail.com
913-416-0878
