Peggy Jean 13668's Story

What do you call a mutt who is part cocker spaniel, part terrier, but 100% adorable? Why, Peggy Jean of course! This little lady has curly golden locks that frame soulful eyes and a too cute snoot. Peggy's eyes might be a bit cloudy, but this gentle gal is all sunshine and rainbows, a perfect pup-shaped pint of positivity. Peggy Jean is also a black belt in snuggling, and she'd love to show you her technique as she snoozes in your lap, on your couch, or in a cozy dog bed - she's not picky! This sweet senior wants nothing more than to find her forever home for the holidays, so if you've got some cheer to spread, consider gifting it to Peggy Jean!

Here's some notes from her foster:

Peggy Jean absolutely adores attention! She'll take a quick little pat but she prefers to have a full cuddle session. It takes her a minute to settle in the car but she's otherwise a good little travel companion. She is an angel around other dogs. She's starting to let loose and is beginning to play with toys. She's happy to fall asleep on the couch next to me and is equally as she's happy to nap in her bed.

She can't walk too far, she was fairly exhausted after a round trip to my local coffee shop (0.6 mi away) and I had to carry her 3-4 blocks to get back home. She'll do well with shorter, more frequent walks. We take her outside for frequent potty breaks and she seems to understand the pee pad.

Peggy has learned to navigate the couch stairs swiftly and loves lounging on the couch. She even found a way to climb on the bed without stairs! A careful eye needs to be kept on her while she nests - she sometimes misjudges the edges. She'd prefer to be held, anyway, with as many pets as you have to spare. She comes quickly when called, especially if it's dinner time!
