Pedro's Story

Some dogs spend their lives searching for the secret to happiness. Pedro already knows it.

According to Pedro, happiness is quite simple. First, there should be breakfast. Then a walk. Then perhaps a snack. After that, a car ride would be nice. Then some cuddles. Then another snack, just to be safe. Pedro has devoted considerable time and effort to studying these matters and considers himself something of an expert.

Pedro approaches every day with enthusiasm. He loves people, enjoys the company of other dogs, and greets new adventures with the confidence of someone who expects life to be interesting.

When Pedro's rescuer first met him, he was dragging his back legs along a dusty road. Most dogs might have felt sorry for themselves. Pedro apparently missed that memo. Instead, he focused on what really mattered: meeting people, enjoying life, and seeing what came next.

Since then, Pedro has been learning new skills, including swimming, which he absolutely loves. He also uses a wheelchair for his outings and has embraced it with the same attitude he brings to everything else: if it helps him get where he wants to go, then let's go.

Pedro doesn't spend much time worrying about what he can't do. He is far too busy enjoying all the things he can.

Additional research into Pedro's philosophy of happiness, including photos and video evidence, can be found here:
https://hope4lapawz.org/wp1/pedro-2026017D.

What Pedro wants most is a family of his own. A family with room for a happy dog, a few treats, some adventures, and plenty of affection.

Fortunately, Pedro has plenty of all of those things to give in return.
This dog is currently in foster care in La Paz, Mexico, but will be transported upon adoption or foster placement. As a U.S. nonprofit, Hope 4 La Pawz, handles all logistics and provides full behavioral and medical info in advance.
