Before coming to Wisconsin, he spent time in a foster home in Texas, where he showed what a wonderful companion he can be. He is a happy, affectionate, energetic, and intelligent dog who is ready to find his forever home.

Pecos is approximately 2 years old and is a typical Labrador Retriever in all the best ways. He is friendly, outgoing, loves being around people, and is always ready for an adventure. Despite finding himself in a Texas shelter, Pecos has maintained his cheerful personality and is embracing his second chance at life. He has a handsome black Labrador coat and currently weighs over 50 pounds.

Pecos is a smart boy who has already mastered many of the basics. He is fully potty trained, sleeps quietly through the night in his crate, and walks nicely on a leash. He rides well in the car and would happily join his family on road trips, hikes, walks, or any other adventure. Like many Labs, he loves being close to his people and would gladly follow them from room to room throughout the day.

He gets along well with other dogs and absolutely loves to play. Because he is an enthusiastic and playful dog, he may not be the best match for a dog that prefers to be left alone or does not enjoy having a playmate. He has been around cats and has shown no aggression, but he is very interested in them and may chase if given the opportunity. Because of his size, energy level, and playful nature, he would do best with older children who won't be overwhelmed by his enthusiasm.

Pecos is still adjusting to all the changes in his life, but we believe that once he finds his forever family and has time to fully settle in, he will be an amazing companion. His happy personality, intelligence, loyalty, and love for people make him the kind of dog who will quickly become a beloved member of the family.

Gender: Male
Age: About 2 Years
Weight: About 50 lbs
Spayed/Neutered: Yes
Potty Trained: Yes
Crate Trained: Yes
Leash Manners: Good
Good with Dogs: Yes
Good with Cats: Cat Tolerant, May Chase
Good with Kids: Best with Older Children

Pecos is looking for a safe, loving home where he can thrive.

Apply to adopt Pecos at:

www.muttlife.org
__________
Adoption fees include the cost of spay/neuter procedure, up to date dewormer, vaccinations, and heart worm prevention (age appropriate).
