Pebbles's Story

Pebbles is a sweet, affectionate 4-year-old bully mix weighing in at a sturdy 95 pounds of pure love. She is fully grown and won’t be getting any bigger, alhough she’s currently on a gentle diet to shed a few extra pounds so she can stay happy and healthy. Big-hearted and even bigger in personality, Pebbles is the definition of a gentle giant. She is incredibly laid back and easygoing, with a calm, friendly presence that puts everyone at ease the moment they meet her. Pebbles has a magical way of winning people over without even trying. Between her endlessly silly facial expressions, delightfully derpy ears, and animated reactions to the world around her, she keeps everyone laughing and smiling wherever she goes. Affection is Pebbles’ favorite thing in the world. She absolutely lives for human attention and thrives in social settings, especially when she’s meeting new people and doggy friends. Within minutes of greeting someone new, she’ll often roll right onto her back, proudly offering her belly and asking for rubs like you’ve been best friends forever. She loves being doted on and soaks up every bit of love she’s given. Pebbles is also an elite-level cuddler. Whether she’s the big spoon, the little spoon, or somehow both at once, she’s happiest when she’s snuggled up close. She doesn’t discriminate when it comes to cuddle partners either; humans, doggy friends, or anyone willing to share space is fair game. She’ll happily curl up beside you for a cozy movie marathon, stretch out for a lazy afternoon nap, or lounge peacefully while you work from home. She's the perfect work from home companion because she's quiet, low key, and self-entertaining. Once the work day is over, just grab the leash and watch her face light up when she realizes it's time for a stroll through the neighborhood or outdoor dinner date with your friends. With her social, loving personality and her go-with-the-flow nature, Pebbles would be the perfect pup for someone who wants a best friend to share life, love, and everyday joy with. She’s ready for her forever person and permanent belly rubber.

Pebbles is lower energy and is best described as a couch potato house hippo. She loves to go on casual neighborhood walks, sunbathe in the backyard, and lounge around on the couch with her doggy friends. She is the best passenger princess that will always be happy to join you on car rides and keep you company on short drives around town or long road trips. She loves to join her human on outings around town like going to dog-friendly stores, outdoor restaurants, and even outdoor breweries. Her favorite games are fetch and tug-o-war, and she really loves to engage in other fun activities with her humans and the resident dogs in her foster home. If she can't find a human to play with, she will find a doggy friend to play with instead. She is also self entertaining and will keep herself busy playing with stuffed animals, squeaky toys, and tennis balls. After playtime, her cuddly, easygoing side really shines and she transforms into the best snuggle buddy. She's always content curling up on the couch for a cozy afternoon nap. Her future home needs to have a toy box full of squeaky toys, ropes, and chew toys. She’d really love having a monthly BarkBox subscription to keep the fun going with new surprises every month. Puzzle games and chew bones will also be great for keeping her busy indoors on rainy days.

Pebbles is dog and kid friendly, but she's not a big fan of kitties. She is currently in a foster home with two dogs, a male and female, and she co-exists with them perfectly. She would do well with another dog in her forever home, but would be perfectly content being the only dog too. She enjoys playing next to other dogs with her own toys, but doesn't really play with them unless it's a quick game of tug-o-war. She does love to cuddle and sleep next to her doggy friends, but other than that, she just coexists with them. She also sees the two neighbor dogs through the chainlink fence next door, and she will sniff them through the fence and then go back to doing her own thing around the yard. If there is another dog in her forever home, she would do best in a home with another dog that is also laid back and lower energy. She has been introduced to cats and would cannot be in a home with a kitty because she will chase them. Really the only time you'll see Pebbles run, it's because she's chasing a roaming neighborhood cat out of the yard. Pebbles has been around younger and older kids, and she loves them all! She is very calm, gentle, loves to cuddle and play with all of them. She is the perfect pup for a family with kids of all ages because she loves affection and cuddle time, and is even super gentle taking treats from their hand (she only uses her lips to grab snacks).

Pebbles is kennel trained, potty trained, and leash trained. She walks well on a leash, and loves going on walks and fun outings with her humans. She prefers leisurely walks where she can stop to smell the roses, and sometimes she wants to hang back and sniff something for a little bit before moving on. She does enjoy stopping to meet new people on her walks too, so be prepared for this social butterfly to want belly rubs from every person she walks past. She sleeps on the couch or dog bed primarily at night, but sometimes goes in her kennel with the door open to sleep too. She can be trusted to be left out at night and won't have an accident or be destructive. She does go in her kennel when her foster mom has to go into the office to work some days too. She doesn't mind her kennel at all, and just appreciates when she gets a yummy treat to snack on when she goes inside. She would love to snuggle up in bed with her humans every night so she can get in as many cuddles as possible though. She is fully potty trained and will notify you that she needs to go outside by standing by the back door.

Pebbles' ideal home would be a house with a fenced in backyard so she can sprawl out in the grass and sunbathe. She would do well in an apartment, condo or townhouse since she's so quiet, low energy, and calm. She does love to sit in the sun so outside time where she can be a land hippo and sun herself is necessary, so if you have an outdoor patio that you can put a comfy dog bed on, she will be content. She would be fine sharing her space with doggy friend in her forever home as long as it's low energy and laid back like her, but she would be perfectly happy to be the only dog and soak up all the cuddles and attention too. No public dog parks for this big girl because who wants to risk your pup catching a disease or being bullied on by other random dogs anyways. She would love to have a family that has other dogs and kids, but no kitties. With her goofy charm, affectionate personality, and heart full of love, she is sure to fill your home with laughter, warmth, and endless cuddles.

Pebbles is in a foster home in Austin, Texas.
