Pearl's Story

Pearl is a 45lb, 3 year old spayed female lab mix. She has no health issues, and is up-to-date on vaccines. Pearl is an adorable, silly girl with so much love and desire to be as close as possible to her people. She loves to spend time outside, sun bathe, get the zoomies, chomp on ice cubes, and burrow under the blankets.

Pearl struggles with resource guarding, presumably as a result of her life pre-rescue. Pearl is a foster fail, but has struggled to acclimate to living with 4 other dogs, and has bitten her siblings due to resource guarding (food, toys, people).
Pearl would thrive as an only dog, with a non-dominant sibling, or with someone who is experienced with resource guarding (people, food, toys) and can devote their attention to helping her overcome this. In the times she has been around them, Pearl is friendly and gentle with children. Pearl does not have experience with cats (but loves to chase squirrels). She does well on a leash and in the car, and is crated when alone (though she will let you know if she is ready to be out). She adores people and loves chest scratches and couch cuddles.

Every day is like Pearls first day because she meets each day with energy and excitement. She is a beautiful girl who has just lived a hard life and needs space to unwind and be near people.

Pearl is located in Summerville, SC and cant wait to meet you!
