Pearl's Story

Look who’s ready to find a family to spend her golden years with? That’s right, our beautiful senior lady Pearl! She’s as sweet as they come!

Pearl, who is 10.5 years old (she’ll be 11 on 7/2), joined the Jax’s family about 2.5 months ago after being surrendered by her dad because of his health issues.

Pearl has some health issues of her own. When she was younger she had a CCL rupture and because of that she has a plate in her left hip. She also has a partial ACL tear in her right leg from a couple years ago that was too small for surgical repair so she has a slight limp. We had her seen by our orthopedic vet and we’ve all agreed that due to her age and how well she gets around that we won’t put her through any surgeries. Those injuries have also caused osteoarthritis and she’s on anti-inflammatories for that. She also has a hooded vulva and, even though she’s spayed, she experiences some urinary leakage but it’s controlled with medication.

Don’t let her age or physical ailments fool you…she still gets around pretty well, loves to play with her balls and toys, and take walks!
While Pearl has been around other dogs in her lifetime, she’s always been the only dog at home so she deserves to spend the rest of her golden years as the only fur child and continue being treated as the queen 👑 she is! She’s a great companion!

Pearl can only do a few steps so she’s looking for a ranch style home, or someone who’s bedroom is on the main floor, so she’s not left alone downstairs at night when her family goes to bed.

To be considered a possible match for Pearl, the first step is the adoption application which you can find here: https://jlrrescue.org/adoption-application/

Our adoption area is within 1 hour of Warrington, Bucks County, PA so please respect that. We’re a small rescue with limited volunteers.
