Pearl's Story
This is her bio from the transition center:

Pearl was found as a stray, and we do not know much about her background. We believe she was on her own a long time, and has likely never lived in a home. As a result, she does not appear to be potty-trained, so accidents should be expected. Pearl is very fearful and shy and does best with another calm, people-social dog who can teach her that people are safe and good. A home with another dog is REQUIRED as she bonds strongly to her canine friends. That said, Pearl is very slowly learning that people can be safe and that scratches, attention, and walkies are good! She does allow people to pick her up, has now learned to walk on a leash (although doorways are still scary), and will allow full handling.

She is 1-2 years old and about 15 lbs.

WE ONLY ADOPT WITHIN A 2 HOUR RADIUS OF THE TRICOUNTY AREA. ***Exceptions may be made for seniors or hard to place dogs.

If the animal is under the age of 3 years old or has health issues, a vet reference is required, which means you must own a pet or have owned a pet in your name.

ADOPTION FEE of $440 covers all vetting including spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, microchip, heartworm test and treatment if needed, and any other medical that may be required while in rescue. Please do not ask us to reduce adoption fees since all fees help us cover medical expenses for all of our animals, some of which can be very expensive. Saving lives is not cheap, so thank you for understanding and helping us save as many as possible.

We only do adoptions on Saturday, and not all animals are able to attend. If you would like to see a specific animal, please let us know via email and we will try to accommodate. However, we cannot guarantee the animal will be at the event without an approved application. Event locations do vary so please check the homepage or our
FB site to find out where we will be this week.

Please email lowcountryanimalrescue@ymail.com for an application.
