Peanut's Story

Meet Peanut — tiny, mighty, and just the right amount of mischief

At just 4 months old, Peanut is a Chihuahua mix (we're guessing there's a little terrier sparkle in there too!) with a personality way bigger than her size. She's the perfect blend of sweet and spunky—what we like to call “nice with a dash of naughty.”

Peanut is already about 99% potty trained (yes, really!) and does wonderfully in her kennel. She's a smart little cookie who's catching on quickly to routines and would thrive in a home ready to keep building on her success.

Now, let's talk about her fan club—because Peanut has one. When her foster went to pick her up from the vet, the staff actually asked if they could keep her a little longer... just so they could spend more time with her. (We can't blame them.) The team at the shelter she came from was just as smitten—this girl has a way of winning hearts wherever she goes.

She's also a social butterfly with other dogs. Case in point: she met the neighbor's Golden Retriever, gave one confident little “woof,” and just like that—they were best friends. No drama, no fuss, just instant friendship.

Despite her playful side, Peanut isn't overly vocal, which makes her a great candidate for homes with shared walls. And as if she wasn't cute enough already, her ears have recently decided to stand up tall and pointy—giving her a permanently curious, “I'm listening...” look that's impossible to resist.

If you're looking for a pup who will make you laugh, keep you on your toes (in the best way), and then curl up and melt your heart, Peanut might just be your perfect match.

Apply to meet Peanut today—you might want to clear your schedule though... people tend to ask for “just a little more time” with her

WHERE IS THIS PET LOCATED? The Rescue Crew is a foster-based rescue, which means all of our pets are cared for in homes throughout Minnesota.

Foster Home Pets: Meet & greets are scheduled after an approved adoption application
Cats at The PURRfect Match Adoption Center (Andover, MN): Some cats may be available to meet during open hours

Please visit our website for the most accurate information on this pet and next steps.

What Comes With Adoption? The Rescue Crew's Adoption Policy
Thank you for your interest in adopting a pet through The Rescue Crew! Your desire to provide a loving forever home to a rescued animal helps us in our shared goal to “Save a Life Today.” We are a completely volunteer-run, foster-based rescue, which means all of our animals live in home environments—not kennels—while they await adoption. This allows us to learn as much as possible about each pet’s personality, preferences, and needs so we can help make the best possible match for both the animal and the adopter. Our adoption process may take a little time, and you might notice we ask a lot of questions. That’s because we want to ensure a lasting and happy match for everyone involved. There are no “right” or “wrong” answers—these questions simply help us guide you toward the pet who will fit best with your family, lifestyle, and expectations. Many of the animals who come into our care have faced hardship, uncertainty, or even the risk of euthanasia. Our mission is to give them a second chance—and to place them in loving, responsible, lifelong homes where they can finally feel safe and secure. If you see an animal you’re interested in, please submit an application through our website at www.rescuecrew.org/adoption-basics as soon as possible. Submitting an application does not obligate you to adopt, but it will help ensure your place in line for that animal—or another pet who might be a perfect match. Thank you for choosing adoption and for helping us continue our lifesaving work. Together, we’re giving hope and homes to animals who need them most.
