Peanut's Story

Meet Peanut! Like his name suggests, Peanut is a perfectly pint-sized pup—a Kelpie x border collie mix weighing in at just 30 pounds (and about 9-10 months old). Don’t let his small size fool you, though—this little guy has a big heart and a big personality!
Peanut is a true social butterfly who loves everyone he meets—dogs, cats, kids, and adults alike. His happy-go-lucky nature makes him the life of the party, and he’s always ready for fun, whether it’s chasing after a ball, chewing on a favorite bone, or going for a stroll.
Smart as a whip, Peanut is eager to learn and would thrive in training classes where he can show off his brains as well as his charm. He’s already housebroken, crate-trained, and walks nicely on a leash. Plus, he’s neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations—ready to go home today!
If you’re looking for a cheerful, lovable companion in a compact package, Peanut is your guy. Please contact kathie@herdinghaven.org if you would like to meet Peanut.

Our Mission
Herding Haven rescues herding dogs from shelters where they have been deemed "unadaptable" due to physical, medical or behavioral issues (or sometimes just because the shelter is out of space). We place them in foster homes, rehabilitate them and then find them "forever" homes.
