Peanut's Story

Peanut is an amazing boy with the most lovable nature. This shaggy low-rider weighs about 40 pounds and he is five years old, born in 2021. His breed mix is anyones guess but he has a soft, curly coat that wont shed much but will need regular grooming. Peanut is an easygoing, good-natured fellow who gets along great with other dogs of all sizes. He is housebroken, crate-trained and well-mannered in the house. Peanut is mellow but he does get brief bursts of energy especially when playing fetch with his beloved squeaky toys. He likes to sleep in your bed and be near you but he is never pushy or demanding of your attention. He is just looking for a home where he will truly be treated like a member of the family.

Peanut was previously adopted but returned due to a minor bite incident. Though he is *nearly* perfect, Peanut is protective of his people when he is at home. He is friendly with strangers in public but he is wary of visitors who enter his home space. He needs to either be crated when strangers come in the home or given a slow, monitored introduction to newcomers. We would prefer to place Peanut in a home where there are minimal visitors as this would prevent any future incidents. Peanut would be an amazing companion for a single adult (male or female) or a couple who do not have much foot traffic in their home.

SOHFGA is based in Lawrenceville, GA and all of our animals are in foster homes.
