Peanut's Story

Peanut is a 10 month old chi-weenie (chihuahua-dachshund mix) that we pulled from an overcrowded shelter where her time was about up. She can be timid in new and scary situations, but warms up fast when she realizes there is nothing to be scared of. This tiny girl is only about 10 pounds and is a total lap dog. We are currently waiting to get her in to the vet to confirm whether or not she is suffering from false pregnancy - or the real kind. As a result, she's not available for adoption just yet, but when she is, she will be somebody's best lap lover. She is very good around cats and other dogs (although giant ones can be a little scary). She is crate trained and appears housetrained. If you would like more information about Peanut, please contact Georgia.

The dogs in our program come with an additional four weeks of integration training after adoption. Integration training is one-on-one training with you, your new pet and a trainer. At NSC, we believe the key to successful placement is proper training. This way the dog knows what is expected of him, and you know how to communicate effectively with your dog.

If you would like more information or even better would like to meet this dog, please call Ginger at 720-514-2537 or you may email her at ginger@NSCRescue.org.

We try to the best of our ability to represent the breed, age and health as accurately as possible; however, as many of these animals come to us with no previous history, in some cases we are going off of educated guesses. Please be aware that while many dogs may appear purebred, there is no guarantee without a DNA check.
