Peanut 's Story
Peanut would love his forever home! He's a bigger guy, currently weighing 32 lbs. and possibly a dachshund/lab mix. Peanut is a quiet gentleman who needs a simple life with his person(s). He did experience past abuse which has left scars and because of this, Peanut will only respond to gentleness, time and space to allow him to completely trust, patience and positive force free training. He will let you know if you ignore his boundaries, his body language and expectations that he may not be ready for or able to succeed at. Peanut appreciates your understanding to build the bond slowly.

Peanut gets along with easy going dogs, is potty trained, loves to play fetch, bask in the sun and go on leisurely walks. He's a snuggler on his terms, doesn't appreciate being forced or abruptly moved, is extremely food and treat motivated, enjoys different fruits and veggies. Peanut will beg, especially in the kitchen and around the table, however, food is a high valued treasure for Peanut and will resource guard. Therefore, this must be managed respectfully and properly.

Peanut may prefer males but does well with females also. He is on a weight loss journey and has a few more extra pounds to lose. He is faithful, not much of a barker, has a soft heart and tender, soulful eyes. His best home must have the following:

1. Small canine companionship preferably dachshund
2.
