Meet Peanut!<br/><br/>Peanut was adopted from us in August of 2024. He was just returned after four months because he was too active for his new family.<br/><br/>He is an active, fun-loving guy, but he isn't high-strung or crazy. With the right amount of exercise and engagement, he will make a wonderful pet!<br/><br/>He needs to be walked with harness only. Pressure on his neck causes him to gag.<br/><br/> He is dog-friendly, so bring yours by for a meet and greet.<br/><br/>Due to his coat type, he will need regular grooming at home, plus professional grooming every six-eight weeks.<br/><br/>Origin Story:<br/>Came in as an owner surrender with another small male dog (Rocko) on 8/13/24<br/>Here are the original surrender notes:<br/>Shih tzu Mix.<br/>Owned for the last 3-4 years<br/>Taken in originally from family.<br/>Rehoming due to a move and no available family to take Rocko & Peanut in.<br/>When NOT home, Rocko and Peanut are crated on the porch.<br/>When family IS home, Rocko and Peanut outside on the porch.<br/>Dogs are confined to the property with an above ground front porch.<br/>Have lived with Adult Men, Women and Children (13 & 10 years).<br/>Lived with a cat and the dogs mostly kept to themselves.<br/>Housebroken.<br/>Will sit for food, water and treats<br/><br/>---------------------------------------------------<br/>Adoption Hours: 11am-4pm every day<br/>No appointments required<br/><br/>Disclaimer: Please only use our website (https://www.hshobart.org/adopt/adoptable-animals) to apply for pets.
