Peanut's Story
Meet Peanut, a tiny Chihuahua with a big heart and a story that will tug at yours.

Peanut came to us after her beloved owner was admitted to an Alzheimer’s care facility. While her world has changed, Peanut is handling it with quiet resilience and is ready to find a new person (or family) to love just as deeply.

This little lady has been part of a home for about 8 years and knows what it means to be someone’s companion. She’s affectionate, enjoys cuddling, and truly thrives when she’s near her humans. If you’re looking for a constant sidekick, Peanut is your girl.

Peanut gets along well with other dogs and has lived peacefully with another Chihuahua. She’s also great with adults and children of all ages. Her experience with cats is unknown, so a cat-free home may be the safest fit.

She’s a pretty easygoing pup:

-Loves attention and cuddle time
-Not food aggressive
-Comfortable being crated
-Enjoys grooming and being pampered
-Not afraid of much—just happy to be with her people

Peanut is paper-trained but may have occasional accidents, especially during transitions. She can be left alone for short periods (up to about 4 hours), though she would much prefer a home where someone is around most of the time.

She’s not used to walking on a leash yet, but with a little patience and consistency, she should be able to learn.

Peanut’s ideal home would be a calm, loving environment where she can feel safe, snuggle often, and be part of daily life. A fenced yard or secure setup is recommended, along with a family who understands that she may need a little time to adjust after losing her person.

Peanut has so much love left to give—she’s just waiting for someone to give her that second chance.

Apply to adopt Peanut: https://bit.ly/AdoptIFR
Apply to foster Peanut: https://bit.ly/FosterIFR
