Peanut 's Story
Peanut was born in a high-kill shelter in Korea. Pregnant at intake, his mom had 6 puppies in shelter - 2 died at birth and our rescue partner quickly pulled mom and remaining pups. Even with volunteers round the clock care helping mom nurse and care for the pups, 3 more pups passed and Peanut is the only survivor.

Peanut and his mom will both be available for adoption. Peanut will be arriving in Canada June 14, and after successful adoption we will be helping his mother. We have a foster home in place in the Richmond area, but would love to be lucky enough to find a “foster to adopt” home, so Peanut can immediately start bonding with his new family.

DUE TO THE RESCUE ENVIRONMENT IN KOREA, PEANUT HAS HAD VERY LIMITED INTERACTIONS WITH OTHER PEOPLE, ANIMALS, AND ENVIRONMENTS.

Peanut is used to a female rescue volunteer, female dogs his size, and short walks on leash outside to go to the bathroom. Ensuring house training will need supervision and positive reinforcement but Peanut should adapt quickly.

He will need extra attention and socialization with new people (especially men), new dogs (especially if larger), and new environments (no off leash walks) - this is a lot of work and dedication, and his adopter needs to understand and be prepared to help him learn and succeed. He is rough with cats, and we do not recommend cats, small animals, or young children for his new home.

Peanut is going to be a big sweet boy full of kisses. He is playful and can be mischievous - like all puppies! He doesn’t want to be held and cuddled - he’s too busy playing with his toys! Peanut is used to some handling, like being bathed and dried, but he will need time to get used to new humans wanting to handle him.

Peanut has not had leash training and will need to bond and train with you before he can be safe and trusted off leash. There are many local sights sounds and smells that can spook new dogs that we don’t think about. He likes his walks and hasn’t been very reactive to strangers or cars.

AGAIN - An adopter should be prepared to provide positive and supervised socialization experiences. Please realize though Peanut is adorable, he will be a lot of puppy work to grow to be the best good boi.

Peanut is approx 40 lbs at 6 months old, and will be a large dog (we guess approx 60-80 lbs).

Peanut is neutered and microchipped.

Vaccinations are up to date:
- DHLPP, Corona, Influenza, Kennel cough
- Rabies
Parasite control UTD w/ Panacur & Frontline.

Peanut has been taking Heart Guard every month since 3 months old.

Our adoption application is here:
http://carriedthrough.com/dog-adoption-application.php

We may not have time to respond to all inquires. Priority is given to those who contact us via a complete adoption application. Thank you.
