Peanut's Story

Some dogs make you earn their trust. Peanut makes it worth every minute.

At just 5 pounds, Peanut may be tiny, but he has a huge heart. He can be shy when meeting new people and nervous in unfamiliar situations, but once he knows you're his person, he'll be your constant companion. Whether he's curled up in your lap, snuggled beside you on the couch, or following you from room to room, Peanut simply wants to be close to the people he loves.

Peanut is looking for a fresh start after finding himself in rescue. He's ready for a family who will appreciate the loyal, affectionate little love bug he is.

He's housebroken, crate trained, neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. He walks beautifully on a leash, and knows sit, stay, inside, outside, let's go, and home. He's treat motivated, obedient, and eager to please. He also enjoys baths, even if garden hoses aren't his favorite!

Like many little dogs, Peanut has a few quirks. He forms strong bonds with his people and can be possessive of them. He also makes an excellent little alarm dog, happily announcing visitors or unfamiliar sounds. When he's frightened, he'll usually retreat under the bed until he feels safe again.

Peanut would love a home with a securely fenced yard where he can safely run and explore. If a leash slips off or a door is left open, he'll take off like a tiny rocket, so he'll need an adopter who is committed to keeping him safe.

Because he's nervous around children and prefers a quieter lifestyle, Peanut would be happiest in a calm adult home. His compatibility with other dogs and cats is unknown.

If you're looking for a loyal little companion who will reward your patience with endless love, warm cuddles, and unwavering devotion, Peanut may be the perfect match. All he needs is someone willing to give him the chance to shine.

If you're interested in Peanut, submit a BAM Adoption Application, and if approved, we'll contact you as soon as possible to arrange a meeting.
