Peaches's Story
Peaches / F / 3Y / 69lbs / Mixed breed / Fostered in Toronto

Peaches is a sweet girl who has been waiting for her person for a long time — over two years in a shelter with no adoption interest. She came to our rescue and is now in foster care and absolutely thriving, and it's about time the world noticed her.

Peaches is smart, silly, cuddly, energetic, outgoing, and playful — often all in the same afternoon. She has the most magnificent big bully head and she knows how to use it to melt hearts. Her signature move? Every single time she sits down, she slouches completely and stares into the distance like she's forgotten how bones work. We love her for it.

✨ Her favourite things:
Her foster brother's attention (she is obsessed), fluffy toys to carry around (and destroy), and cuddles whenever she can get them.

🏡 Life with Peaches:
She is crate trained and can be left for up to 6 hours during the day and all night — she just needs a little distraction toy to settle at the start. She gets 5–6 walks a day including at least an hour of brisk walking and 30 minutes of sniffy time, plus plenty of playtime with her tiny foster brother. On leash she does well with a head collar — she'll pull, but corrects easily. Fair warning: squirrels are her nemesis, and if you stare at her on the street she will absolutely try to come say hi.

🧠 Still working on:
Peeing outside consistently (pooping: fully sorted! ✅), leash manners, waiting for release cues, and bringing herself back down to earth after getting the zoomies.
If she grabs something she shouldn't and you tell her to drop it, she will grumble loudly about it — this is being worked on. Loud sudden noises startle her.

🐾 Other dogs, cats & kids:
Peaches is very excited about other dogs and can learn to get along with proper introductions. She is not suited for a home with cats. She would do best with children 13+.

🏠 Her ideal home:
A medium-sized dog sibling to play and wrestle with, a backyard for frequent potty trips and zoomies, consistent and patient training, and a family with large breed experience and lots of love to give.

If you are interested in adopting Peaches, please complete an adoption application on our website.
