Peaches's Story

Peaches / F / 3Y / 66lbs / Mixed breed / Fostered in Oakville

Peaches is wonderfully goofy and sleeps in hilarious positions—sometimes on her back with a smile! She's content curling up in a sunny spot or chewing her favourite bone while staying close to her people. Once you've earned her trust, she becomes incredibly affectionate and loves belly rubs. She's also clever—she's figured out how to flip up the blinds to watch the world go by! She spent the last 2 years of her life living in a shelter but she is figuring out the good life!

This medium-energy girl enjoys 30-minute walks morning and evening, loves sniffing and exploring, and is obsessed with treats, bully sticks, and puzzle toys. After her adventures, you'll find her napping contentedly on the couch, occasionally snoring adorably.

- Fully crate trained and settles immediately with no separation anxiety
- Mostly potty trained (still learning in cold weather—she'll use bells to ask out for #2!)
- Good on leash with regular reinforcement (sometimes reactive to small animals)
- Currently working on: drop it/leave it, place/stay, focus, and not jumping during greetings
- She's comfortable being crated alone for up to 4 hours and is making great progress with distractions
-Occasionally guards items she knows she shouldn't have (responds well to redirection)
- Loves car rides (especially if they include a pup cup)

Peaches is excited when meeting new people but calms quickly. She is great with other dogs, no cats! She would be fine with kids 12+. Her ideal home is a family committed to positive reinforcement training, a backyard for sunbathing, patience with continued winter potty training, and an appreciation for an independent but affectionate companion.

If you are interested in adopting Peaches, please complete an adoption application on our website.
