Payaso's Story
This tall handsome drink of water is Payaso, the Husky/Shepherd/Giraffe mix. Did we mention how tall he was? He's a big boy! Like way bigger than his current weight implies, but we like us a tall man 'round these parts.Unfortunately Payaso was severely neglected in his previous home so in addition to being thin, his coat is stained and he is still stinky despite numerous baths. But this will all resolve with time and better care. His glow-up will be a sight to see for sure!Like a lot of northern breeds, Payaso can be a bit aloof with strangers and also is not a big fan of invasive handling by new folks (think nail trims and walking equipment) but once you are "in the club" he becomes much more social and tolerant. He would love a guardian who has experience with his breed type and with the patience to work through the bonding phase. He is definitely a dog who will attach closely to his person and make a loyal companion for the right match.Payaso was appropriate with the large female dog he met, and previously lived with a large male dog, but was a bit rude with the small dog we introduced him to. It's possible that he is just inexperienced with dog social interaction, but he could also be influenced by some prey drive- another thing Huskies are known for. So he definitely isn't a "dog park dog" and will need a family able to manage his interactions with other animals carefully as his personality and intentions fully reveal themselves. Again, previous breed-type experience would really be helpful. If all this sounds reasonable to you and you are ready for a companion who isn't necessarily the most social butterfly but will certainly turn heads when you walk by, consider meeting Payaso- he just might be your perfect match. ***ADOPTION FEE SPONSORED*** Primary Color: Red Gold Secondary Color: Cream Weight: 71lbs Age: 4yrs 1mths 1wks Animal has been Neutered
