Patsy

Patsy is a gorgeous and loving Treeing Walker Coonhound girl, who loves to show off her superior hunting skills in short amounts while spending the rest of her time warm and cozy inside her foster home. At 2 yrs old and about 65lbs, Patsy is an extremely people oriented dog who just wants to meet and love everyone especially her foster mom. <br/><br/>Patsy is house trained whether in a home with a doggy door or in a home where she needs to let her people know, she will always go outside to do her business. After going potty, she usually spends a little bit of time smelling and using her hound skills, but does not like spending a lot of time outside especially if alone outside. <br/><br/>In her foster home, Patsy is sometimes let out to roam the property and has not run off. She usually follows the smells in the yard and will return when called. She also loves to just run with her foster dog siblings, barking and enjoying the freedom. We believe she would appreciate a large fenced yard with a tall fence to ensure she remains where she should be. <br/><br/>Unlike many hounds, Patsy loves her crate and prefers to her spend her free time cuddled in crate. In a previous foster home, her foster mom worked a normal work day and Patsy did not have issues in the crate all day as long as she had outside time in the morning and evening. <br/><br/>While Patsy currently lives with cats, with her hunting drive outside we are not quite certain due is cat friendly or safe to live with them. <br/><br/>Patsy was found starving and in poor health and very skinny which has resulted in some mild food issues. She has never attacked another dog over food; however, she does not like sharing a bowl with her foster dogs and will growl if they get too close. <br/><br/>Due to her size and her issues with food, we will only adopt Patsy to a home with older children and someone that can handle food separation and some additional training. <br/><br/>Patsy is fully vaccinated, is heartworm negative and is microchipped.
