Patrick's Story

Meet Patrick – A Gentle Giant with a Heart of Gold

Patrick is a truly beautiful dog with a fluffy coat, soulful eyes, and a heart that's every bit as big as his 75-pound frame. At around 5 years old, he's fully vetted, healthy, and could stand to gain just a few pounds to fill out his handsome build.

One of Patrick's sweetest qualities is how incredibly gentle he is. He takes treats from your hand with the softest touch and absolutely loves people and attention. If you're driving, don't be surprised if your co-pilot leans over the seat o give your ear a little kiss—it's one of his favorite ways to show affection!

Patrick handles short car rides well. On a recent trip through heavy traffic, he became a little anxious and somehow managed to get his legs tangled in the leash that was securing him to the seat. Amazingly, he calmly figured out how to untangle himself. It was a pretty impressive display of problem-solving and just one example of how smart this boy really is.

We suspect Patrick may have spent some time fending for himself before coming into rescue. Because of that, he is very interested in trash cans and is always on the lookout for discarded food. He'll need a family that's willing to keep garbage secured and continue helping him learn that he'll never have to scavenge again.

Patrick is an affectionate, intelligent dog who is ready to leave his past behind and become someone's loyal best friend. If you're looking for a gentle companion with a sweet soul, a fluffy coat, and plenty of love to give, Patrick may be the perfect addition to your family.
