Tennis balls + belly rubs = life is golden. This is the mantra that Parker lives by. He loves nothing better than a nice new tennis ball to chew on - nothing except a relaxing belly-rub to accompany it, that is!<br/><br/>Parker was a little uncertain about people when he first came to the kennel, but he quickly warmed up to folks once he realized they were on his side. This dapper gentleman is a sweet and chill guy who's content to just hang out with you in a yard or go for a nice long walk. He loves a good game of fetch, but as much as he loves his tennis balls, he does need a little bit more work on his catching skills lol. He gets an A for effort though. <br/><br/>Now, Parker has been settling into a foster home and he has been a good boy. He is housebroken and is fine being crated - a little whiny at first, but then he settles down. He's been a great listener and he is a sensitive, sweet pup. Parker has also been on outings and enjoyed himself. He can be a little anxious in the car but enjoys exploring once out. He's been social with other dogs at the kennel and did well on a run with our Run Club. <br/><br/>Parker is about 2 years old and weighs about 62 lbs. You must schedule a meet with a dog in advance - we are not currently accepting walk-ins. Please look online first to see if there are any dogs you think would be a good fit for your home before scheduling a meet. To get the process started, visit www.tinyurl.com/meetacitydog and fill out the form. One of our adoption counselors will get in touch to schedule and confirm your meet! At the kennel, an adoption counselor will introduce you and your family to the adoptable dogs, share information we know about them, and discuss our suggested ways for successfully integrating a new dog into your home. You are welcome to meet multiple dogs. If the dog you adopt is already fixed, he or she may leave with you that day - otherwise, the dog can go home after receiving the spay or neuter surgery.)<br/><br/>About Our Dogs: All available dogs have gone through a behavioral and medical assessment. This assessment is a snapshot of who the dog is at that given time. We cannot make any guarantees with regard to behavior, temperament or health of any City Dog once they are in the home. Most of our dogs are picked up as strays, so we do not know what kind of home environment they were living in (i.e. with kids, other dogs or other cats), nor do we know if most of them are house trained. Everything we know about them is based on volunteer and staff observations. We do have some dogs in foster homes, where they will have more information about how the dog is in a home environment. It is very hard to tell with certainty whether or not a dog will be good with kids, cats or another dog. If you have kids in the home or another dog, we do require that they be present for a meet and greet with the dog you are considering for adoption.<br/><br/>Heath/Vaccinations: Dogs that are adopted directly from the kennel need to go to your personal vet within two weeks of leaving the kennel. All dogs receive their DAPPL, Rabies, and Bordatella vaccines, though you may be required to get follow up boosters. All dogs come microchipped and with a Cuyahoga County license.
