Parker's Story

Parker is a tiny 2-year-old Yorkie mix with a gentle heart and excellent lap manners. He’s sweet, snuggly, and (mostly) quiet, with a strong preference for cuddling over chaos. Parker is non-destructive when left alone, does well unsupervised, and is comfortable with cats and kids. He could be happy as an only dog or with a calm, compatible canine friend.

Parker is a true people-dog and very attuned to his humans. In busy or noisy groups he can be a bit nervous and not very assertive about his needs, but he gets along well with everyone and adapts easily to a wide range of home environments. His minimal barking is a huge bonus, and his affectionate nature makes him incredibly easy to love.

He is still working through some occasional indoor marking, which is expected to improve, and he hasn’t started leash walks yet. What Parker really wants is a home where someone is around often and happy to share their lap!
His foster says it’s hard to imagine how Parker was ever unwanted. He’s been easy to integrate into the home, and his gratitude shines through in his affection and mostly perfect manners.

Thank you for considering an OTAT-WTX rescue! All pets are living in foster homes, spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on core vaccines.

If you are interested in adopting, or for more information, please visit our website: https://otatwtx.org/how-to-adopt

One Tail at a Time - West Texas (OTAT-WTX) is based in Marfa, TX and works across hundreds of miles of rugged, remote borderland - there’s frequently no cell service, no water, almost no retail, no medical services. Virtually everyone lives off the grid down winding dirt roads. There’s not much for local economy; people are...
