Paris's Story
Paris is an approximately 3 to 4 year old Cane Corso female that is a gorgeous gunmetal gray color. Paris has had a really tough go at life as this poor dog has never caught a break, no one ever advocated for her prior to get her into a solid home. The story we are told about Paris is that she has lived her life in various homeless encampments being given from person to person as her various owners have either passed away from overdose or have been incarcerated per reports from people who have known Paris over her life. How this dog has such a sweet and loving personality after everything she's been through is quite a testimony to who she is. Apparently Paris has been kept in cars or chained up outside of a van in the camps for most of her life and sadly has been passed from person to person who help care for her when she has lost a caregiver. Paris was even trapped inside a RV that caught on fire and she VERY narrowly was saved from and had to recover from serious burns on her sides, all while living in the dirt without vet care. Paris was a bag of bones when she came into rescue when an encampment volunteer discovered her with pups and decided this time Paris gets out and contacted rescue. She is gaining weight in rescue and has a clean bill of health from the vet. Paris had to give birth in a car and was moved to a wooden box that was too small for her and the 8 pups and finally moved to a small wire crate exposed to the outdoor elements with her babies and yet Paris took excellent care of all of her babies in these unfortunate situations. She peaceably tolerated herself and pups being moved and handled as she has the sweetest most loving demeanor and personality. She made it into rescue with approximately two week old pups who are thriving in foster. How this nice purebred Corso got into this situation is a legitimate question but one that is so many owners ago it cannot be answered now. I'm assuming she had an original owner that fell on hard times at some point and then she just remained behind in the encampments when he apparently passed away. It is only by grace of God she got out and got here to mastiff rescue where she has a chance at finding a loving home and getting to live a decent life given her nice temperament.

In foster Paris is excellent with horses and chickens, she is a VERY clean girl in the house, LOVES car rides, is non destructive and a pretty quiet lady. She loves to roll in the grass and walk around free and enjoy the sun and lots of petting… she thrives on the snuggles! She has nice leash manors and I am told previously she could be walked fine around other dogs if instructed by the walker to ignore other dogs but in foster she wants nothing to do with other dogs and it is enough of a dislike that I am seeking a home that is a only dog home or a home that maybe will take her and one of her pups. This behavior of disliking other dogs (more so females) might be her protecting her pups from new dogs but it might be a result of the life she led. She is great with people around her and her pups. Paris apparently was good play friends with various young male dogs in the encampments but in foster with pups she is not having any dogs around her space. Chickens flew up and over right in her pen and she does not touch, she is sweet and soft but has been through so much she is currently not tolerant of other dogs. I am told she will half heartedly chase a cat but I believe she would stop if smacked by a cat as some cats are good teachers that way or if her human instructed her to leave alone I think she would given her gentleness with a bunch of chickens! Foster does not have cats so cannot assess. She will bark at strange noises but acclimatizes to them quickly and has meet new people with friendliness and wags. Paris will be spayed and available to a forever home first part of August. Please consider giving this loving girl a real home that she has never really had, she is so deserving of a permanent loving home and she will reward you with happy tail wags and kisses! She is truly deserving of a good life with a solid person to love on her and she has so much love to give back to you!
Her adoption fee will be the price of her spay so somewhere around $375 is hopeful, the right home is far more important than the adoption fee.
Home visit and reference check required for adoption, available in the Pacific Northwest states please, fenced yard please, older kids only as she has not been tested around little kids yet. She would love a rural life where she could be your best friend and keep you your farm animals safe!
Fostered in North Bend WA
Please email juli.nelson@gmail.com or text 206.423.8909
