Papillon's Story

My name is Papillon and I'm a boxer/terrier mix about 8 months old and 40 pounds. I was left at a home by my owner who didn’t want to be with me much. I was pretty scared when I left there, but I had canine friends to help me get along. I’m actually afraid of many things because it’s all so new to me. When I’m afraid I want to run away. I think I need only grown-ups in my new home—kids are scary to me right now. I really want a family who wants to be with me, one who will teach me new things so I don’t have to be afraid any more.

I like the cats and think chasing them is great fun. They don't. My leash manners aren't good either because I'm scared outside my house and yard, the places I know. I love my toys and still chew things up, but I am getting used to a crate. I am also learning house training and must say, I’m getting better about that. I need someone who is patient and another dog in the house to help me learn to feel safe. I really need a securely fenced yard to keep me from running away if I get scared. I'm still a puppy, after all. I just want a family to love me and teach me all the things I should know. I really want someone to love me.

I'm being fostered in Frederick, Maryland.
